What size of perm rods would I use to get my hair to look like the girls in the picture?

I have medium length colored hair, its just past my shoulders about an inch or two. I permed my hair a few years ago much tighter than I want now, but it did take very well. I would love to have a perm that looks like or similar to the girl in the picture. Does anyone know what size of rod/rods I should use to get this effect and how to place them? If anyone could help me out that would be great. Thanks! Heres the picture.

Alternate Orange and Peach (you'll have more curl in the beginning but it will loosin up)... Or just go with Orange (which is larger than peach)! Just because you get a perm doesnt mean it will result just like hers (so you know) always use a diffuser when blowdrying (with a thermal protectant) and you will most likely have to achieve this look with the curling iron as well ( you will have to style it, her hair has been styled in this picture... you wont wake up that way... So effort will still be required)! You could do a regular perm wrap or a specialty perm wrap to achieve similar look! Make sure to bring the picture to the stylist and explain that your hair rejected your former perm (your hair may be resistant and require a stronger formulation such as an alkaline perm)! Call to set up a consultation before making any permanent decisions! Just for kicks try using hot rollers and set with a thermal activing setting spray (preferably with a hold factor... Kenra makes a great one)!

If your hair is colored, you shuld not perm it. IT can really dry it out and even change the color of it. Try using gel and steam rollers or a spiral curling iron.

it looks like medium or large

becuase the curls aren't that tight.. they're more loose and free falling

do you have sponge curlers? The best thing to do is to wash hair, use a heat activated conditioner %26amp; shampoo like thermoderm, blow dry your hair for 5 minutes to get the excessive moisture out, using a tail comb make small sections of hair ( an average head is about 15 sections) Make smaller sections of the ones on the front and top, roll your hair in the curlers. they are moderate in size, not too big, an inch in thickness and curl your hair around it. Blow dry your hair till completely dry, remove curlers and run fingers .through hair, for added pizzaz, use small quantity of gel on one or two strands and curl them around your finders wait for a mniute and uncurl from finger...

All the best

Nikki answered your question correctly. Your other response was use sponge rollers. Never, ever use sponge rollers, they dry out the hair, damages the hair, tangles the hair.

The largest or second largest rollers. Most likely second largest if your hair is as long as hers. The rods should be Peach Colored...then again it depends where they're from. Most salons they should be peach. And about 3/4" in diameter.

To get the look of the girl in the picture it is definately done with a 3/4 or 1 inch barrel curling iron.

No perm no matter how well done will look like that unless it is finished with a large barrel curling iron.

Believe me I've done hundreds of perms.

That's curling iron work on naturally wavy hair

If you did get a perm it would probally be orange or peach like Nikki said but it'll take a lot of work everyday to get it to look like that...

I've been doing photograph work like that for years...

Don't Fool Yourself.

Then again if you have the time every morning to do it I say go for it.
