What is the best way to style kinky, course curly hair that is relaxed so it looks spiral?

I would suggest going to a few good salons and asking the stylists to recommend some products for you. You might also want to ask people who sport that style what kind of products they use. You might even just splurge and buy some different products and try them on your hair. What works for one doesn't necessarily work for all. So your best bet is to find what works for your hair. If you have a Sally's in your area, try Silk Elements products. They have a Luxury Mosturizing Shampoo and Conditioner that really soften course hair. But again, asking around and trial and error will probably prove most effective.

You could use either a soft or hard holding gel and spiral set it with the same rollers they use to do (jheri) jerry curls. You should twist it around the rollers sideways. Then you should sit under a hairdryer til it drys and take the rollers down and you have a spiral set. It should hold well as long as your hair is not too fine in texture. I hope this helps you out.
