A question on hair styles and products:?

A- I currently have hair that's slightly below my shoulders and, while I would like to grow it out a bit more, I am looking for a cute style to live with. Currently, my hair has minimal layers, and I have bangs. While my hair is not curly, it does have some curl, which makes it difficult to style. In addition, my face is a little more round. Although I am thinking about adding more layers, I have no idea what to do. Can anyone reccomend me a web site or someplace to go (or something to read, etc) where I can do some research on hairstyles?

B- Right now, my hair is dry, frizzy/has fly-aways, but has a very fine texture, so it's very limp. I am also thinkning about taking up swimming again, which would add to the dryness/damage. Can anyone reccomend a shampoo/conditioner that would give me INTENSE moisture without weighing down my hair?

question a- you can always go to your nearest salon and look at the hair catalogs or ask one of the beauticians advice, im sure she/he would be happy to help. question b- have you ever used a flat iron? there some stuff you can go get at a sally's beauty supply. its glossing polish, by procclaim. if you use a very small amount and flat iron your hair, it helps with fly aways and frizzies. and as far as shampoo/conditioner, i personally like the biolage line, because it works, it smells good and it comes in all kinds for different hair types. also get you a deep conditoner, its not just for african hair, even though chances are youll find it with the ethinic supplies. usually, you put the conditoner on, let it set on hair for 5-10 minutes while blowdrying so the conditoner can penitrate into the hair. the one i use also comes from sallys and its call natures therapy by loreal

Infusium 23 is the best leave in conditioner, use it daily after swimming, and washing your hair. I'd suggest cutting it shorter for the summer, you can always grow it later. Add some layers,go WITH the curl, not against it,maybe some longer layers around the face,so you could still pull it back if you wanted to do so.

With a face more rounded you should get your hair choppy layers starting from just below your ears and have it angle from your cheek bone down to your back/shoulders. keep your bangs aaround cheek length as well. It'll slim out your face abit if done right =]

Garnier fructis all the way. Use the shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner for extreme results.

Well, the best place to research a new style would be at a local salon. They should have lots of books and pics there to give you some ideas, and they can let you know if your hair will support the styles you like. Retail stores also carry mags in their mag. section of cuts and styles. If your hair is dry, I would suggest using some proffessional product. Biolage by Matrix has a new line of product made just for swimmers and sun bathers. Ask your local salon and they can give you more info. Something that I would suggest is the Amplify line. It is a line by Matrix that will not weigh your hair down, but by using the shampoo, and conditioner it will put the moisture and shine back into your hair without weighing it down. Also when your are rinsing your conditioner out use tepid or cool water, instead of hot. It will help shut down the hair cuticle and lock more moisture into the hair shaft. Good luck!
