What to do with curly hair??

I really don't like my curly hair so I have been striaghting it. I would like to keep it curly but I have tried so many things mousse, creams, gels and my hair is still dry and poofy. What are some good things to put in your hair to make your curls really moustireized and shiny?? Here is what I want my hair to look like http://www.curly-hair-styles-magazine.co...

ok, only brush your hair while in the shower. not after, or it'll break up your curls' definition and turn it into a poofy mess. thats what happens to me anyways :D

dampen your hair, put some mousse(i like la looks) in it. scrunch!

spray with hairspray(i use suave, whatever it is for curly hair- bluish bottle) and scrunch a bit more

good luck!

I swear im going through what you are too. Im mixed with black and dominican, so my hair is thick and really curly !!!

what i do is i go into the afro american hair styling product section and get some grease and that thick, thick gel.. then i buy some regular hairspray. When i get out of the shower i put the gel and the grease in i brush through it. Then i spray the hairspray all over and work my hands through my hair. I usually leave it down or i style it however.. i hope this helps

my hair is super curly too. i use Catwalk TIGI Curls Rock gel. it makes my curls more define. you can get it at almost any hair salon.

What to do with curly hair??

well i have extremely curly hair its also like most ccurly haired people frizzy i love any shampoo that add shine they make my hair loook well shiny to get my curls soft i wash every other day or every 2 days it really depends. i also love to use pink oil or hair manoise(i dunno how to spelel it) it usually meant for people with ethnic hair but my air is so think adn course i use it! to achieve healthy curls, right out of the shower brush hair and put into a bun on the top of your head go to bed and when you wake up your hair should be looking pretty good thats when i put the oils or hair manoise in. and i also use hair spray but not a lot. i hate those white flakes you get from it. moose is good too but only about the size of a dime if you dont eant it to get crunchy. oh and i also like the brand GOT 2 BE and they have GOT TO BEcurly straight voumized. the curly one is a dream its about 5 bucks and is a good sized bottle found just about anywhere.

That's exactly what my hair looks like. This is what I do:

All products are Frederic Fekkai

1. Wash hair with Moisturizing Shampoo - it helps to weigh down curly curls (Only do this if you have tight curls). Otherwise use Luscious Curls Shampoo and Conditioner.

2. Keep hair very wet (and even re-wet if needed). I use mousse for my hair but make sure my hair is very wet. I work the mousse into my hair (with my head upside down).

3. I take a towel to my hair and try to absorb some of the water (not all of it). If your hair is really curly, let it air dry. If it's like mine, where the curls are loose, then use a diffuser attachment with your hair dryer to dry the hair a little. Keep your head upside down during this process - it will create some volume up top.

4. if you want to make it shiny I use glossing shine sheer mist. a little goes a long way.

Bed Head and Sebastian make really great products for curly, dry, hair. I think you will especially like Bead Head products. They have a shampoo that really moisturizes your hair. Use the conditioner also. You need a good anti-frizz serum also. Put a dab on hair as you blow dry and just before using a heat appliance (curl or flat). You can also add more after you style. You can also use a good protein conditioner and see if that helps. Joico K-Pak is great, ask someone at Sally's for a good protein pack. You could also use a mild hair relaxer to take some of the poof out,it tames it a bit. One and Only by Jerri Redding is great and sold at Sally's also. Just leave it on a few minutes if all you want is to take out the poof or follow directions if you need to remove curl. It works. John Freida makes awsome products for our hair also. The hair serum works great and adds shine. Baby oil is also good to use...try it good luck Bren

,my hair is curly also, everyone ask's me, who does your hair... i keep telling them, that i was born with it.....then they tell me how lucky i am, but as you know, you want a change and there is just so much you can do with it.....i do all the same things that you have tried.... but get some hair serum and put on it, to put back some oil in it, and then put losts of mouss on it..... like a hand full.....let it dry on its on and then turn you head over and run your fingers threw it and it will give you that look...... like my pitcher......good luck....

I swear by Deva Curl products. Low-Poo, One Condition, Angell, and Set it free. The whole line is around $13-14 per product. It takes around two weeks for hair to start feeling soft, shiny, and manageable. I have been using this line for 2 1/2 years now. I realize how important it is to use good product. Take a look into the Curly Girl Handbook by Lorraine Massey also.
